BTR in the Community
An Economic Pillar
BTR Airport is one of the economic pillars of the community, providing over 4500 direct and indirect jobs and $1.1 billion in annual economic output. BTR connects the world to Baton Rouge and Baton Rouge to the world, playing an important role in the area’s future development.
Operating as a self-sufficient Enterprise Fund,
the airport produces its own revenues for operations and does not use local tax revenues.BTR is also involved in the community, including hosting the ARC Baton Rouge Plane Pull fundraiser, Wings for Autism, and participating in many other civic and charity events. The Friends of BTR Golf Tournament raised $10,000 last year for the Baton Rouge Area Habitat for Humanity.
