Thanksgiving Week Busiest at BTR Since Pandemic Drop Off

The Baton Rouge Metro Airport (BTR) Thanksgiving week passenger volume was the highest weekly count since the pandemic gutted air travel demand. Additionally, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving set a single-day BTR record since the pandemic for the TSA checkpoint with 896 passengers passing through it.
 
The TSA security checkpoint at BTR had 5,716 passengers pass through it for Thanksgiving week compared to 10,875 for last year. Although down -47%, the BTR percentage outperformed the nationwide average passenger decline of -59% for the same period.
 
Passenger demand has improved steadily at BTR since the April low of -95% year-over-year.
