Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR), January 22, 2012 — More passengers flew in and out of the Baton Rouge Metro Airport in 2011 than in any of the past 3 years (2009-2011), with 809,851 total passengers utilizing the airport.
BTR had 404,735 enplanements (passengers boarding aircraft) in 2011 and 405,116 deplanements (passengers
disembarking aircraft), for a total passenger count of 809,851. This represented a 4.02% increase over 2010.
The 2011 December total passenger count was 66,873 passengers, a 4.5% increase over December 2010.
"We appreciate the support from companies and residents in our area," stated Anthony Marino, Director of Aviation. "The community's support of the Baton Rouge Metro Airport air service is vital to sustaining our existing flights and justifying additional airline service."
Delta Air Lines had the highest market share of BTR passengers from the airport at 38 percent of traffic, followed by United/Continental at 28 percent, American at 24 percent and US Airways at 10 percent.
