Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, October 15, 2010—The ARC Baton Rouge’s 3rd Annual Plane Pull Festival and Competition will take place on Saturday, October 16 at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Plane Pull is the largest fundraiser for the ARC Baton Rouge, a non-profit organization that has been serving Baton Rouge and surrounding parishes for 55 years. Proceeds help fund services for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Teams of 20 compete to see who can pull a 150,000 pound Federal Express jet 12 feet the fastest, slowest, and with the most enthusiasm. This year’s Plane Pull will include a variety of events and entertainments that include live music by the Michael Foster Project and Bayou Bluegrass, a jambalaya cook-off, a Millet Motorsports motorcycle show, a petting zoo, aircraft displays and more. The event is free and open to the public.
