"Interim Chief” no longer prefaces Anthony Williams' title. He is now officially the new Police Chief for the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport Police/Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighters (ARFF) Department.
Chief Williams joined the Baton Rouge Metro Airport ARFF Department in 1998; and he has been in law enforcement since 1989, when he joined the Baton Rouge City Police as a reserve officer. Chief Williams served as a Navy SEAL prior to his law enforcement career.
During his time in law enforcement, Chief Williams has received letters of recognition from the Director of Aviation, the Department of Homeland Security, and the City of Baton Rouge.
Officer Robert Guidry Receives Award
Officer Robert Guidry received the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport Police/ARFF Department's Public Service Award for 2009. Officer Guidry has served with MAPD for 7 years. In that time he has received numerous letters of appreciation from the general public, including 3 letters of appreciation for this year alone. A recent article in The Advocate newspaper profiled his outstanding public service.
